NEC Display Solutions of America, the leading stand-alone provider of flat panel desktop displays, today announced exciting new product accessories for their MD Series of diagnostic imaging displays. They include SentryDX, a remote DICOM and conformance sensor, and a new removable protection shield for damage prevention. The new products are designed to protect and extend the value of new and existing NEC MD Series LCD displays.

Used for automated sensor measurements, calibrations and reporting on NEC MD Series LCD displays, SentryDX sensor can monitor brightness and ambient lighting remotely. It is also capable of checking for DICOM conformance and measuring whitepoint to ensure optimal performance uniformity from display to display. SentryDX can also be used on non-MD series displays.

To help protect the screen surface of MD Series LCD displays from the damage that fingers, pointers and pens can cause during diagnostic use, NEC has introduced a lightweight protective shield that extends the life and value of the display without compromising image quality. Easily attached and removed, the 100% transparent shield features coatings on both sides of the high-grade acrylic that hides fingerprints, protects the display from scratches and creates an excellent resistance to permanent markers. It is also able to be cleaned easily on both sides for optimal clarity maintenance.

In addition to the new MD Series products on display at SCAR 2005, NEC Display Solutions will also be previewing a 2 mega pixel 21" (21.3" VIS) LED backlit color LCD display and a 3 mega pixel 21" (21.3" VIS) color LCD display for the medical diagnostic market.
