NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading stand-alone provider of LCD desktop and commercial large-screen LCDs, plasma displays and projectors, announced today that it is adding two new MultiSync 5 Series LCD monitors to its fast-growing widescreen display portfolio. The new models include the 20-inch MultiSync LCD205WXM and the 22-inch LCD225WXM. The new widescreen additions deliver improved productivity and enhanced performance.

Both new displays are Windows® Vista-certified and designed to fit the needs of business users with new height adjustable stands, swivel bases, lightning fast 5-millisecond response times, high contrast ratios of 1000:1, 1680 x 1050 native resolutions, and wide viewing angles up to 176 degrees. These features create a great multi-purpose display, well-suited for data, multimedia presentations and general-purpose computing.

The LCD205WXM and LCD225WXM come standard with integrated down-firing speakers for the most demanding multimedia applications.

These new MultiSync 5 Series displays are compatible with NEC’s exclusive NaViSet™ software, which offers an intuitive graphical user interface that allows users to adjust On Screen Manager (OSM®) display settings via mouse and keyboard. This option allows users to set the monitor to a specific setting for color critical programs.

The MultiSync 5 Series line also features an ultra-thin bezel, making it well-suited for multiple-monitor configurations. The use of dual displays allows for two programs to run side-by-side or for viewing extra-wide spreadsheets with ease. Studies conducted by ATI Technologies and the University of Utah have proven multiple monitors increase productivity and allow for greater ease when working on large projects.

The new MultiSync LCD205WXM and LCD225WXM models include the following features:

These displays are RoHS (Restriction on Hazardous Substances) compliant, containing fully disposable plastics and minimal amounts of hazardous materials, such as lead, hex-chrome, cadmium, mercury, PBDE and PBB.

The displays are available today with estimated street prices of $344.99 for the LCD205WXM and $364.99 for the LCD225WXM.
