NEC Display Solutions CAPS OFF SUCCESSFUL INFOCOMM SHOW BY GIVING AWAY HARLEY DAVIDSON® MOTORCYCLE

Thousands of AV Professionals Visit NEC Booth to See New Large-Format LCDs, Projectors and Plasmas

NEC Display Solutions of America, the leading stand-alone provider of flat panel desktop and commercial large-screen LCD displays, plasma displays and projectors, announced the winner of its Harley Davidson Motorcycle giveaway at InfoComm 2007, the audio-visual trade show held in June in Anaheim, Calif. Pablo Niebla was the winner.

The give-away was the culmination of a very successful coming out event for NEC. InfoComm 2007 was not only the first time the newly formed company (merger of the Visual Systems Division of NEC Corporation of America and NEC Display Solutions of America) exhibited together in more than four years, NEC also unveiled its newest generation of large-format 20 Series displays with the thinnest bezels in the industry, debuted the VT700, the first 3,000-lumen projector for around $1,000, and introduced the first Windows VISTA™-compatible projectors.

A key upgrade in the 20 Series is NEC’s new CV12 pixel technology. These chevron-shaped pixels, an industry first in a large-format display, deliver twice the contrast of traditional PVA panels, while also dramatically increasing brightness and viewing angles. These features produce a cleaner, brighter image while minimizing off-angle color shift.

The portable VT700 digital projector boasts 3,000 ANSI lumens, 1024 x 768 native resolution (XGA) with automatic keystone correction, quick start-up and shut-down, connectivity flexibility, including DVI-I input, five-watt speaker and a three-year limited warranty.

The NP1150, NP2150 and NP3150 professional integration projectors can connect directly to a network without the need for additional proprietary software, bringing the benefits of Windows Vista compatibility to boardroom and classroom projectors. With Microsoft’s Remote Desktop Connection and the use of a USB mouse and keyboard connected directly to the projector’s USB input, these NEC projectors can connect to a networked computer. They also include Silicon Optix HQV™ technology, a high-performance, video processing/scaling system designed for computer signals as well as standard or high-definition video that produces superior video processing.

“NEC continues to be a major supporter of InfoComm and strives to be a leader in industry by developing top notch products and programs,” said Pierre Richer, Executive Vice President, NEC Display Solutions. “We’re excited about this year’s record attendance and look forward to the convergence of Infocomm and NextComm in 2008.”

NEC’s NP4000 projector was awarded Most Innovative Install-Grade Video Projector by System Contractor News and the 60XM5 plasma was awarded Best Plasma or LCD Display by Rental & Staging Systems magazine.

“It was great to see the new NEC lineup of products and especially gratifying to drive away from the show with a new Harley,” said Niebla, who works in the A/V industry. “The sheer number of booths at InfoComm can be a bit intimidating, but NEC’s 40-ft. by 80-ft. booth was easily distinguishable.”
