NEC LCD2180UX’s Superior Image Quality Critical Factor in Organization’s Decision
NEC Display Solutions today announced that it has supplied LCD displays to Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, recently named one of the country’s best hospitals by U.S. News and World Report. The professional-level NEC MultiSync LCD2180UX and the medical-grade MD21GS will be helping medical professionals read and diagnose medical images in Abbott Northwestern’s Heart Hospital.

The professional and MD series displays, used in the Cath Labs and throughout the nursing floors, will play a critical role providing clear and consistent images for Abbott Northwestern cardiologists reading cardiac angiograms and viewing MRIs and CT scans.

“The NEC displays were selected because of the superior brightness and image clarity they produce,” said Daniel Lips, MD, FACC medical director of the cardiac catheterization laboratories at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. “Clear and consistent cardiovascular images are critical for review and diagnosis, and the NEC displays give us the performance we need.”

The NEC MultiSync LCD2180UX is a high-performance display with high-end features and technologies for advanced functionality and enhanced productivity. Such features include GammaComp™ internal circuitry that produces smooth, accurate color tones, XtraView+™ wide-angle viewing, crystal-clear 1600 x 1200 resolution, and automatic black level adjustment.

The NEC MultiSync MD21GS-2MP delivers the intelligence and high performance medical professionals require. This medically certified 21.3" grayscale 2-MegaPixel display features X-Light™ technology, which allows for consistent brightness and whitepoint levels throughout the useful life of the monitor. X-Light also makes for easy multiple monitor matching, while providing the user with the ability to adjust the whitepoint to user-defined specifications.

“We’re extremely pleased to have been selected by Abbott Northwestern Hospital as a provider of medical imaging solutions,” said Todd Fender, Product Line Manager for NEC Display Solutions. “To be associated with Abbott Northwestern’s acclaimed Heart Hospital and the Minneapolis Heart Institute is a real honor.”

NEC’s MultiSync MD Series grayscale displays are designed for diagnostic imaging and for use in Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) applications. Diagnostic imaging displays from NEC Display Solutions are based on technologies and features that deliver superior performance and produce a lower total cost of ownership in healthcare environments.
