Color Accuracy & Quick Stability

10-bit LCD Performance

High quality LCD technology is the heart of the MultiSync PA Series. The wide viewing angle with vastly reduced color shift means that images are accurately and reliably communicated to all viewing positions. Additionally LCD color reproduction offers a depth and realism where even the most subtle nuances can be appreciated. The latest 10-bit LCD panel technologies offer the ultimate image quality and represents the cutting-edge of today's professional imaging technology.

The MultiSync PA Series employs the latest 10-bit (or 8-bit + FRC) grayscale control and NEC's exclusive SpectraView Engine, which allows over a billion individual colors to be displayed. This 10-bit color capability is best taken advantage of when using the latest DisplayPort or HDMI connections which support 10-bit input digital signals.

  • Superb color accuracy and stability from all viewing angles
  • The finest color nuances are easily discernable
  • Extended viewing with minimal eye strain
  • Human skin color is perfectly reproduced
  • 1,024 grayscales per RGB channel generating 1.073 billion possible colors instead of the conventional 16.7 million colors associated with 8-bit technology

Image Uniformity Control

withoutwith

For many professional applications, consistent and smooth brightness and color across the entire image area is an essential basis evaluating images. Every MultiSync PA Series is individually measured at NEC's factory using high precision color sensors and a very detailed correction matrix is created to adjust for individual irregularities in brightness, color and gamma values. The built-in Digital Uniformity Compensation (also known as ColorComp) dynamically levels out all variations in brightness and color, even those that are affected by temperature, operating time as well as rotation of the monitor.

Backlight Aging Correction

The Backlight Aging Correction function is an additional feature to assure stable color reproduction and luminance during the warm-up phase, as well as over the lifetime of the product. An internal electronic backlight compensation system assesses the luminance of the back light, corrects and stabilizes it during its warm up phase. Additionally as the backlight ages the white point temperature shifts to yellow, which can be periodically compensated through an aging estimate to appropriately modify the RGB filter gains.

The second generation MultiSync PA Series have taken this technology one step further. The new backlight sensor actively monitors the luminance and white point of the monitor and makes adjustments in real time in response to changes in white point caused by temperature, humidity or the age of the backlight.

Especially in the world of publishing and media, professionals cannot afford to make mistakes. An inappropriate or inconsistent choice of marketing color can negatively impact a brand identity.

The MultiSync PA Series was designed with color managed workflows in mind and contains several time-saving features designed for professionals working with multiple ICC profiles, multiple color gamuts or even multiple computers.

Each display comes with 5 completely user-customizable presets. These presets can be set to many industry standards, including REC 709, BT.1884, Adobe RGB and sRGB, among others, and ICC profiles can be loaded directly into the presets.

The powerful Picture-in-Picture or Picture-by-Picture feature of the MultiSync P and PA Series allows either two different computers or images to be viewed on-screen simultaneously or the same image in multiple customized preset color spaces.

In addition, DisplaySync Pro technology enables a single mouse and keyboard to control two computers connected to the display, functioning like a virtual keyboard / video / mouse (KVM) switch.

Future Ready Connectivity

The MultiSync PA Series is designed to work with all modern computers and includes a wide range of connectivity including HDMI, DisplayPort and DVI as well as a USB KVM and is a safe investment for the future.

The DisplayPort input is compact and includes a built-in locking mechanism for hassle-free installation and also provides installation flexibility thanks to longer cable lengths and 10-bit color support.

The integrated USB hub reduces desk clutter and is ideal attaching peripherals such as mouse and keyboard. The two upstream USB ports can be assigned to different video inputs, most advantageous when utilizing the Picture-in-Picture feature with two independent video signals from different platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux etc.).
